ANDREAS TABERT Pastor I started life a few decades ago in Abbotsford, BC. My journey of faith in Jesus Christ began when I was eight. Under the influence of a devoted mother and a church that valued knowledge of the Bible, I developed an early love for God’s written Word. This love grew into a passion to study and teach Scripture, which has carried me through a number of degree programs and twenty-five years of pastoral ministry. I married Kirsten in 1994. Our journey together started in Prince Rupert BC and followed Highway 16 first to Terrace BC, next to Westlock AB, and now to the city of Edmonton. We’ve been at CCA since the Fall of 2018. We have three outstanding children: Hannah (’96), Nathanael (’99) and Marissa (’02). I love getting out into God’s creation: running and hiking, peddling and paddling, skiing downhill and cross-country. Being raised in a Christian home offered many opportunities to witness my parents living out their faith and serving the church. After High School I served the local church and Christian camping ministries in various volunteer roles. During this time, I became a Journeyman Carpenter, started a family and a small construction business. After 8 years of leading the Refinery Youth Group, I was asked to join the eldership at CCA. Following 4 years of eldership, and continued home building, I was offered a part time staff role involved in administration and pastoral care, a role which I am still enjoying today. I have four vibrant and incredible children (Rebecca, Sarah, Abigail, William) and a beautiful woman who allows me to call her my beloved. CoraLee (my beloved) works part time as an RN at a small town hospital. This I learned later in my life when I was asked if I’d like to attend an Alpha course shortly after getting married. There… I discovered the true love of Jesus. My work life after high school included many years with a telecommunications company in executive administration and scheduling. I then moved on to various other companies as a recruitment consultant, a coordinator for paramedic examinations, and client event planning. All of this brought me to the wonderful opportunity I enjoy today in the CCA church office. My home life blossoms as well with the love of my wonderful husband Nick and daughter Alayna. I enjoy cooking, baking, camping and volunteering whenever I can with our church and at Alayna’s school.
